Early Childhood educators reflecting on frameworks and tensions in their practice

Time: 4/28/2020 at 12:00 PM,

Event type: Research profile seminar

This presentation will provide insights into how Early Childhood educators engage with and respond to the identified language needs of children in a vulnerable community. In Australia, the introduction of the "Early Years Learning Framework: Belonging, Being and Becoming" and its corollary the "Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework", 2011 provide policy direction for Early Childhood educators' practice. Both policies mark a significant change in the government's expectations of the role of early childhood educators.

Lecturer: Dr Anne Keary, Faculty of Education, Monash University Clayton, Australia Anne's research, teaching and engagement work enhances the provision of socially-just education in diverse cultural and linguistic educational settings.
